‘Wake up call’ for the Warriors

Soundly beaten at KR
Was it a case of the best scrum half in SL against the worst?

There was more to do with the defeat other than who was the best scrum half in one game.

All depends on which pack dominates the game and last night the pack and also the whole team and Harry Smith were second best.

Since the World Club Challenge game, we have hardly been outstanding against the lower teams and against good teams like St Helens and Hull KR, we have failed to get the winning two points because of poor defence.

They will have to play better than that in the Challenge Cup Semi Final against the Robins if the club wants to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of winning its first ever Challenge Cup Final!

Agree OC….not playing well at the moment…teamwork poor…left edge very dodgy in defence

Perhaps the time has come for older players like Cooper, Farrell and Isa to retire at the end of the season or go to another club to allow younger members of the squad like Hill, N'Semba and Walters to establish themselves more in the squad of what is now a faster and fitter game.

If they do not, than we have got a problem with even more good young players in the Reserves like Eseh jnr, Farrimond, Forber, Lowe, Makin, Wilson etc fitting into the full squad of next season.

Again agree OC….a bit of a change needed in the forwards…but patience needed with the younger ones..don’t think ISA would have got a game had Walter’s been fit

Wigan - 30 - Catalans - 8

Explain that?

Seeeing that Catalan lost 30-2 at Leigh last week and they obviously have some problems with injuries and suspensions while Wigan fielded more or less their strongest team and had to make amends in front of 14,000 home supporters for the poor display last week, that might explain it.

We can only hope they maintain that kind of play and result in the rest of the season!

I thought we lacked something in attack….French seem a little off colour

Perhaps a positonal switch might help by playing French at Full Back and Field at Stand Off, especially as Field was signed to play at number 6, the shirt he was given in his first season.

Just a suggestion!
